A Poem from 4th Grade

February 4, 2009 by indigopress

I wrote this poem in the 4th grade. It still works today, maybe even more so. Please feel free to comment on it, or any of my other writings.

Equal World

Black nor white,
Yellow or tan,
It makes no difference
They still are man.

As Lincoln said,
And so will I,
No man of color
Has to die.

We look at them
As something strange,
Perhaps our thoughts
Should rearrange.

And all of us
Should have this thought,
In these few words
That Lincoln taught.

Black nor white,
Yellow or tan,
It makes no difference,
They still are man.

What he said was
Really right.
Remember this
From day ’til night.
